Carolina Blue Rattery

This line is from Ohio and North Carolina stock and is a double dilution from Russian Blue and American Mink. I call it Am. Russian Dove in order to distinguish it from other dove colors using a different brown dilution. Recessive head spots in this line can appear on Berkshires which causes a fade in color. Berkshire markings in this line are produced by the homozygous Irish marking gene h(i). The rats are the largest in my rattery having a very sounds structure. Dumbo ears produced in this line are butterflied. Heads on males are somewhat slender.

First Am. Russian Doves born in North Carolina.

This line is from Virginia and North Carolina stock and is a double dilution from Russian Blue and American Blue. This line consist of founders of the darkest blues of both types I have seen. Founding rats are self but whitening on paws is present on some. Dumbo ears are large and vary in all three types: saucer, tulip, and butterfly. The Russian Blue portion of this line has a great temperament at Carolina Blue Rattery. I will continue to select for better temperament and ears while maintaining a dark silver with less white.

This line is from Michigan and North Carolina stock and is bred to combine UK and Am. Mink into a creamy yellow color. Rats in this line are American Mink and UK Mink. Pearl and Merle are currently present in the line. Russian Blue is present in the line but and may appear as Russian Dove but I will not be breeding for this.

This line is from Pennsylvania stock and is being bred so that it may be introduced into other lines in the future. This line is being bred as a separate line to determine health and litter size. Rats in this line are dumbo and carry Russian Blue and Red Eyed Dilution. This line has the best temperament at CBR and has exhibited no maternal aggression. Currently trying to breed out the Red Eyed Dilution in the primary line.
